A Sweet Summer of Giving

One of our favorite summer traditions returned this year, reminding us once again that even the simplest acts of generosity can make a lasting difference. Our annual Ice Cream Social brought together families, friends, and members of our community for an afternoon of giving, all in support of Harvest House Guam's Back to School Bash.

This year, we were honored to partner with Ben & Jerry's Guam, whose generous donation of 180 ice cream cups helped make the day extra special. Together, we transformed The Salt + Light Home Flagship into a welcoming gathering place where guests could enjoy a sweet treat while helping local foster children and families prepare for the upcoming school year.

A Sweet Way to Give Back

For the first time, the Ice Cream Social was hosted inside our flagship, where our team organized and operated the event alongside a festive Ben & Jerry's pop-up tent generously provided by our partners. Visitors were invited to donate backpacks, reusable water bottles, and school supplies in exchange for a complimentary cup of Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

Throughout the afternoon, our showroom was filled with conversation, laughter, and the shared joy of giving back. It was a beautiful reminder that community is built through small moments of generosity and people coming together with a common purpose.

This Year's Impact

Thanks to the incredible kindness of everyone who participated, we collected more than 60 donations of backpacks, water bottles, and essential school supplies. Every contribution will help support Harvest House's Back to School Bash on July 25th, ensuring foster children and families have the supplies they need to begin the new school year with confidence.

Each donated item represents more than just a backpack or notebook—it is a tangible reminder to a child that their community is standing beside them, cheering them on as they enter a new season.
